Bi-Courtney Aviation Services becomes the 54th ACI member in Africa Airport Council International (ACI) has admitted Bi –Courtney Aviation Services, the operators of world class Terminal Two, Murtala Muhammad Airport, Lagos to its fold. Bi –Courtney thus becomes the 54th ACI member based in Africa.
The company was awarded the concession of the Federal Government of Nigeria to develop, Finance, manage and operate the Terminal 2, Murtala Muhammad Airport, Lagos under a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) arrangement.
This is the first major BOT project in Nigeria, an illustration of a strong determination of the Federal Government of Nigeria to pursue public – private partnership in the development of the air transport sector in Nigeria, further continuing to unlock the huge potential of the African sleeping air giant.
According to the Managing Director of Bi – Courtney Aviation Services, Mr. Alex Van Elk, the membership of ACI will be an excellent opportunity to strengthen the brand of Bi – Courtney Aviation Services as the second airport operator in Nigeria and also establish itself as a prominent airport operator on the African continent. ACI offers a perfect environment for airports to exchange information in all aspects of the aviation industry. “We will use the various capacities of ACI for the further training and development of our staff in a highly professional and fast changing industry”. ACI members will benefit immensely from Bi Courtney‘s vast experience in the private sector, especially in the field of Project Financing.. ACI is the international association of the worlds' airports. It is a non profit organization, the prime purpose of which is to advance the interests of airports and to promote professional excellence in airport management and operations. ACI-Africa is the voice of African airports, extending into Africa the programs and services of the Airports Council International (ACI) family, while developing tailored ones to meet the needs of its regional members. As of 01 January 2008, ACI Africa has 54 members, operating over 200 airports in 45 countries in Africa
